What a difference a week makes!

Compared with last Monday, lambs in the 40 to 80 lb. weight range sold $20 to $30 higher at New Holland Sales Stables (PA). 1,977 lambs were sold compared to a record-setting 3,940 the previous week. Slaughter sheep also sold nearly $10 higher than last Monday. The sale report noted a big improvement in quality of consignments as compared to the previous week.

Compared to last Monday, slaughter kids sold $6 to $10 higher. Demand was best for heavier goats. 1,060 goats were sold compared to 2,582 the previous week. All goats were sold by the head with estimated weights.
