In terms of the commercial sheep industry, it is probably the Rambouillet that is the most popular, as this is the foundation breed of most western range flocks.

I am curious about your take on Cotswolds & Wensleydales for fiber. What advice for purchasing these breeds?
They are rare breeds, thus of limited genetic diversity. Otherwise, they are no different than any other breed. Purchase healthy animals from reputable breeders. Purchase animals that have the traits that are important to you. Put more emphasis on ram selection and be willing to pay more for a superior male.
