A Sheep Field Day will be held in conjunction with the 36th Annual Virginia Performance Tested Ram Lamb Sale and Replacement Ewe Lamb Sale on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at the Virginia Sheep Evaluation Station in Steele's Tavern, Virginia.
The field day will start at 10:30 a.m. and feature a variety of speakers and topics. A lamb lunch will be available. The Performance-Tested Ram Sale, followed by the ewe lamb sale, will begin at 1 p.m.
Rams will sell by breed test group. Within breed test group, sale order is determined by a gain iindex which combines ADG and WDA. While on test for 63 days, the rams consumed a pelleted diet containing 75% TDN and 14% CP.
