The Frederick County Sheep Breeders Association will be holding their annual dinner and meeting on Thursday, November 4 at the Cozy Inn in Thurmont, MD. "Meet and Greet" starts at 5:30 p.m. The buffet dinner will be served at 6:15 p.m. The program starts at 7:30 p.m.
The speaker for the evening will be Mary Mannix from the Thurmont Center for Agricultural History. Mary will discuss the agricultural history of Frederick County. After the program, the "Shepherd of the Year" award will be presented, there will be a brief business meeting, and door prizes will be given out.
The Frederick County Sheep Breeders Association is one of two county sheep associations in Maryland. They are very active with educational programs, youth activities, farm tours, and lamb and wool promotion. Yearly dues are only $10. Visit their web site at www.fredericksheepbreeders.com.
