28 youth compete in Jr. Goat Skillathon

Twenty-eight youth from Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina competed in the Junior Goat Skillathon, held October 2 in conjunction with the 3rd Annual Western Maryland Goat Field Day & Sale.

The Skillathon tested youth on all aspects of goat production:  meat, dairy, and fiber.  There were five stations (Feed/forage ID, Equipment ID, Breed ID, Body Parts, and Potluck), a judging class (Kiko bucklings from the goat test), and a written test.
