Until funds run out, any sheep or goat over 14 months of age that has died in a Maryland flock (or herd) can be disposed of at the Frederick Animal Health Laboratory at no charge to the owner.
The USDA will cover the disposal cost as part of the Scrapie Eradication Program. These animals will be tested for scrapie.
