World's Oldest Sheep

The world's oldest sheep died a few months ago. "Lucky" succumbed to the effects of a heat wave in southern Australia. She was 23, twice the normal life expectancy of a sheep.

Recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records, Lucky died peacefully on her farm in Lake Bolac after a short illness.  The previous record for old age was held by George, a Merino wether, also from Australia.  George died in his sleep in 2006 at the age of 21.

George and Lucky were both pets.
