The 2015 Virginia Tech Southwest Sheep Field Day and Ram Lamb Sale will
be held Saturday, September 26 at the Virginia Tech Southwest
Agricultural Research & Extension Center, Glade Spring, Virginia.
Katahdin rams participating in the ram test at the AREC will be offered
for sale. Some of the rams sold will also have EBVs for parasite resistance.
The purpose of the Southwest Virginia AREC Ram Test is to provide a standardized post-weaning performance evaluation of growth
and parasite resistance that will furnish records which will be useful
to the consignor's breeding program. The test also serves as an educational tool for the sheep industry.
