A 5th Annual Small Ruminant Conference will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the James I. Dawson Building Auditorium on the campus of Alabama A&M University.
The objective of the Small Ruminant Conference is to educate producers, educators, veterinarians, industry representatives, and the public on identifying breeds of sheep and goats suitable for meat production in the Southeast. In addition, participants will learn about sheep (new lamb) and goat marketing strategies, farm economics, and biosecurity measures that can be adopted on small farms to increase profitability and sustainability.
This event is a multi-state program of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Urban Affairs and New Nontraditional Programs unit at Alabama A&M University and the Tennessee State University’s Department of Agricultural Science.
