The sale bucks from the 2013 Western Maryland Pasture-Based Meat Goat Performance Test have been chosen. Seven bucks met the Bronze standards of performance for growth, parasite resistance, and parasite resilience. An additional seven bucks were chosen for the sale. All other bucks may be purchased via private treaty.
The fourteen top-performing bucks will be sold via public auction on Saturday, September 21 at the 1st annual Mid-Atlantic Small Ruminant Extravaganza at the Old Dominion Agricultural Complex in Chatham, Virginia. In addition to the bucks, sixty to seventy does of various breed types will be sold. The sale will start at 12 noon.
