On May 20-22, 2013, the American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control will celebrate its 10 year anniversary with an International Conference. The 3-day conference will be held at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia. Fort Valley is approximately 100 miles south of Atlanta.
It will be a train-the-trainer conference. Stakeholders in the small ruminant industry will be educated in the most up-to-date methods and recommendations for parasite control in sheep, goats, and camelids. The conference will provide training and certification in integrated parasite management, including "smart drenching" using the FAMACHA© method. It will offer continuing education credits for qualifying veterinarians.

The Southern Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (SCSRPC) was established in 2003 to address the growing problem of anthelmintic (dewormer) resistance in small ruminants. The consortium is a group of scientists, veterinarians, and extension specialists who meet on a regular basis to collaborate on research and educational programs and make and revise recommendations for small ruminant parasite control.
As the membership of the consortium expanded, the name was changed to the American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (ACSRPC).
