Sheep Killer Going to Jail

February 11, 2006 -- A 23-year-old Sabillasville man received six years in prison Friday for the shootings of two sheep July 8 as they grazed in a field along Apples Church Road in Thurmont.

One of the sheep died immediately. A veterinarian euthanized the second animal, which suffered a severe injury. Frederick County Circuit Court Judge G. Edward Dwyer Jr. suspended all but 18 months of the sentence for the felony animal cruelty charges.
